We picked up Horizon Zero Dawn last night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as we became Aloy and put our skills taught by our mentor Rost to the test against the machines that rule the land now.

Here is Farmertom1223 facing the first big enemy called the Sawtooth, a giant robotic cat-like creature that is fast and relentless.

Preload for Horizon Zero Dawn Available Now

The next big PlayStation 4 exclusive comes out tomorrow but people who preordered digitally can preload Horizon Zero Dawn, the new action-RPG now.

The game unlocks tonight at 9 PM PT, which comes out to midnight Eastern. It’s not immediately clear when exactly the game will become available in other regions.

Earlier this month, Sony talked about how Horizon Zero Dawn has the potential to become a new franchise for the company. A report from SuperData said the game could sell as many as 6 million copies by the end of 2017 and up to 8 million for its lifetime, bringing it close to Uncharted 4. This would be a notable achievement since Horizon Zero Dawn is a brand-new franchise.

Guerrilla Games has announced everything that’s in Horizon Zero Dawn’s day one update.

We will be putting up the first 20 minutes of gameplay later tonight or early tomorrow morning so everyone can get a good look at the games graphics and show where the story could possibly go so stay tuned in for it!

Shadow Of Mordor Sequel ‘Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War’ Announced

It’s been almost three years since we were taken back to middle earth for some good ol’ orc smashin’ in Lord Of The Rings: Shadow Of Mordor an now it looks like we’re finally heading back.Warner Bros. has officially announced Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be released on August 22.

The game will once again feature an original story in the Middle-earth universe, and will see the return of Talion and his ghostly companion Celebrimbor. Yesterday’s report about the game’s story content has been proven correct. “Players wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth.”

The game will also feature an expanded version of the Nemesis system. In Shadow of Mordor, the game created orcish officers that reacted to their encounters with Talion. In Shadow of War, Warner Bros. promises that the world’s environment itself will also be shaped by your play.

“Followers bring about entirely new stories of loyalty, betrayal and revenge. The Nemesis System is also expanded to create a unique personal world through Nemesis Fortresses, which allows players to utilize different strategies to conquer dynamic strongholds and create personalized worlds with their unique Orc army.”

Here’s the official announcement trailer. Everyone keep calm and try not to break anything in your excitement.

Crash Bandicoot Remake May Not Be PS Exclusive

Crash Bandicoot, the beloved PlayStation icon from the 90’s is getting a well deserved reboot but it looks like it may not just be Sony getting the sneaker wearing hero.

So far, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has only been announced for PS4, and is set to launch on June 30. The PlayStation Ireland Twitter account recently replied to a tweet and stated it will be exclusive to PS4. That tweet has since been deleted, with a new message correcting what it originally said.

“To clarify our earlier post, it will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first,” the new tweet reads. It hasn’t clarified this any further, but it sounds as if N. Sane Trilogy is a timed exclusive and, as such, could eventually launch on other platforms.”

N. Sane Trilogy is a remastered version of the first three Crash games: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (my personal favorite) and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Originally, those games were developed by Naughty Dog, but it’s Vicarious Visions that’s handling the remaster.

Are you hoping Crash makes it to other platforms?

Split Screen Is Coming Back To Halo for Halo 6

Halo 5: Guardians‘ was a hit with the fans, minus one major flaw that has been taken away from a majority of games now a days.

Halo fans were not pleased with lack of split screen. The absence of this feature, long held as sacred by the community, caused a great deal of ire to be aimed at Microsoft and 343 Industries. But that won’t happen again, because Halo 6 and every other 343-developed game will have split screen going forward.

Studio head Bonnie Ross confirmed the news today at DICE 2017. She called the decision to leave out splitscreen from Halo 5 “painful” for the company. “It erodes trust with the community,” she stated. “We’ve had a lot of learnings from that, and I would say for any FPS going out forward we will always have split screen going forward.”

Hallelujah.

Game OF Thrones Stars Join Mass Effect: Andromeda Cast

BioWare announced today that Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer will play Dr. Lexi T’Perro in Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Dormer will also be joined by another Game of Thrones actor, Gethin Anthony, who has a role in the game as well. Dormer and Anthony aren’t the only TV and movie actors who voice characters in Andromeda. Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, SpongeBob) voices Ryder’s father. Needless to say, this led to a fun moment for Dormer when she heard Anthony in the game for the first time during the recording process.

“I had a bit of a moment earlier when Gethin Anthony’s voice came in over across my headphones. It’s kind of a weird one, hearing Renly Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell in different guises.”

That wasn’t the only news of the day for the game. BioWare also released a new game play video on YouTube. This is the second game play video the company has released and this one focuses more on the character customization, including skills and more.

Here’s the video. Tell us what you think. Are you even more excited about the game because of the stars that are voicing the characters?

UPDATE: Looks Like The Resident Evil Netflix Series Not Happening

Well here is some rather disappointing news. It looks like story by truthimedia.com a few days ago about the Resident Evil Netflix series was “a total crock of s**t” according to culturedvultures.com

Via Cultured Vultures website,

“The rumour was started by a website/pit of s**te ironically called TruthiMedia. According to this website, which has a grand total of five likes on Facebook, they have “insider” sources. Nine times out of ten, if a small site attributes their info to someone on the inside, you can usually translates that as “something we just made up”, or in this case “we know a guy who knows a guy who knows a dog that once ate a Netflix gift card”.”

They go on to say that the artwork that was used for a teaser picture was actually a mock-up from Eddie Murphy’s The Haunted Mansion.

It seems that the people at TruthiMedia have a reputation of spreading rumors about a variety of different topics. Just recently, they have published “articles” about Selena Gomez being pregnant, Putin working with Hillary, and Kanye West trying to rush the stage at Trump’s inauguration.

“They will write just about anything for a few clicks” says Cultured Vulture writer Jimmy Donnellan. “This is one of those rare times when fake news is actually fake news.”

Bummer.

Wildlands Gets New Teaser Trailer; Beta Begins Tomorrow

Get ready, Tom Clancy fans. Something better than The Division is on the horizon. We know that’s not saying much but it’s still exciting!

Tomorrow, February 23rd, beginning 6am EST to 6am EST on February 27th, Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta will be live exclusively for Xbox One from and a new teaser trailer has just dropped to get gamers excited for all of the action. The Beta game can be downloaded on PC and Xbox One however players won’t be able to begin playing until tomorrow.

The trailer looks pretty for sure and it looks like an explosive experience. You can have up to four people per team and will be playing in two locations in Bolivia; Itacua and Montuyac. There will be several ways to take down the cartel from setting up a perimeter and using the sniper to take them out one by one, put your stealth tactics to good use or even send in a drone to get a good look to see what you’re going to run into.

Take a look and tell us what you think!

Xbox Executive Praises Horizon: Zero Dawn, Other Releases

Xbox head Phil Spencer took to twitter to express his excitement for upcoming releases not just on Xbox, but for all consoles.

Spencer said that, “Good games shipping are positive for industry. Forza Horizon 3, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Civilization 6, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Overwatch etc all make gaming better, celebrate them.”

Spencer addressed a fan linked comments from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier about the Xbox One not being able to compete with the PS4 and how Scorpio needs to try something new.

“Strange comments. Xbox is having a good gen, our best yet. XB1S strong since launch. Can always improve but proud of where we are.”

Unsurprisingly, Spencer didn’t share any strategic thoughts on Project Scorpio. Also unsurprising given Spencer’s historic focus on games, he did acknowledge the importance of great exclusive software. “Gamers want good games,” he continued. “Proud of our first party this gen, can always do more. Xbox gamers demand a lot, we’ll work hard to deliver.”

Speaking of what the Xbox team will deliver going forward, Spencer just last week said he was “confident” in the lineup Microsoft was bringing to this year’s E3.
