PlayStation Gets A Big Update

PlayStation 4 has a big software update out now for beta testers, and the additions coming to the console have a lot for owners of the console to get excited about.

There’s support for external USB HDDs, which means no matter how much internal storage you have on your PS4, you can add up to an additional 8TB of space so you’ll never run out of room for games and saves. It also adds support for 3D Blu-ray discs to the PlayStation VR, letting you see 3D in full. This means you can enjoy 3D so long as you have a PS VR, even if you don’t have a 3D TV.

The newest features now include the ability to post updates to your PSN activity feed in the same way you would share social updates on Twitter and Facebook, and you can  share screenshots in game as status update. Those screenshots can also be used as custom wallpapers for your home screen. The Quick Menu is also getting an update that tweaks the mechanics for easier in game party options.

For now, these are the only features the beta is previewing. The addition of extra storage for games and saves itself is enough to make any PlayStation fan happy. What are you looking forward to the most with this update?
