In an interview with Glixel, 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg says he wants to go to the other side and make a game. Trachtenberg has already made the video game film Portal: No Escape short. Although he is eager to make a game, I wouldn’t expect one any time soon if at all.
“I have a feeling I’ll have to make a few more movies before I ever get a shot at making a game, but I’d love to make a game at some point,” Trachtenberg said.
Not only do we have the Cloverfield Lane director wanting to make a game, Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams is working with Infinity Blade studio Chair Entertainment on an action-strategy game called Spyjinx for mobile and PC.
Trachtenberg reveled during the filming of 10 Cloverfield Lane, he was playing Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, and Dishonored 2. He is an avid World Of Warcraft player as well and is currently playing The Last Guardian he said during the interview. “I bring the games with me wherever I go and it’s a big part of my creative life, for sure,” he said.
Do you think movie directors have a shot at making a decent video game?
