The Top 5 Games I Can’t Wait To Play In 2017

In my honest opinion, 2106 was an underwhelming year for games and consoles alike. Sure, it delivered popular games like Overwatch, Battlefield 1, Doom, Dishonored 2 and other above average games, but I felt as though that it was missing that signature game you couldn’t miss out on.

2017 already has me jumping for joy with big titles getting squeals and new comers trying to be the next big thing for this generation of gaming so I thought I would share with you guys my top 5 games that I cannot wait to play.

5) Resident Evil VII

The best survival horror, jump scare, piss-your-pants franchise in gaming history is making a comeback in a big way. In Resident Evil VII, you’re back to the basics: Alone in a scary ass house with things that want you dead and for lunch. Umbrella corp., S.T.A.R.S. are kicked to the curb as new characters are introduced and even a new direction as this is a first person Resident Evil. This intrigues me so much because this is Capcoms first crack at an fp horror game and after playing and becoming a big fan of the game Outlast, I feel as though RE7 will not only surpass Outlast, but possibly be the best fp game of the entire year. Yes, I know it’s too early to tell but the hype for this game is real and after RE6, Im ready for something different to kick my ass.

4) Halo Wars 2

I’m looking more forward to this game purely out of curiosity. Halo Wars 2 has immense weight on it’s shoulders to become the next big Halo game because Halo 6 is still a ways away. It has even more added pressure because of it being a real time strategy game for a console. The original Halo Wars was given mixed reviews due to the fact that it just felt like any other rts and didn’t feel like a Halo game, which is unfair to compare the two  due to the fact they’re two completely different games. After Bungie left to work on it’s next project, Destiny (three years of my life I’ll never get back), they left everything that was Halo in the capable hands of 343 Industries and their firs game after taking over was Halo Wars. The beta for HW2 came and went and it was a bit rough at times and still had a lot to work on but I have high hopes for this game mostly because Halo is my favorite franchise ever.

3) Horizon Zero Dawn

I look at this game as a mix between Farcry, Tomb Raider, Turok and… so many other games. Set in a world overrun by robot dinosaurs (awesome), you are the hunter (huntress?) Aloy who lived her entire life sheltered from what was out in the rest of the world. She finally says “screw this” and sets off on her own journey to discover this wonderful world of mechanical prehistoric badasses. The mix between the hunting/gathering,and rpg elements in this post apocalyptic open world masterpiece is sure to lure in new and old gamers alike.Horizon will play like a traditional third-person shooter that has been enhanced with some cool new additions. Body parts of your robotic enemies, such as laser cannons, can be used against them. You can also loot creatures for crafting materials and new equipment, which will be a vital part of adapting to such a harsh new world.

2) Red Dead Redemption 2

Do I honestly need to tell you why I’m excited for this game? No. I don’t

1)Mass Effect: Andromeda

The Mass Effect series, along with Halo, has to be one of the most entertaining, original and exciting games I have ever played. Being commander Sheppard and working your way from a grunt (not to be confused with Grunt the Krogan) of a soldier to the savior of the entire galaxy was time consuming but a wild ride. Assembling your team from the first game to the last was a challenge if you weren’t careful with your side mission and just made everything that you said and did have more impact than you thought it would. Andromeda take place years after Sheppard and his rag tag crew of misfits and introduces the Ryder twins Sara and Scott. You can choose to be either character and the one that you don’t choose to play as will still have an important part of the story. They are the children of Alec Ryder – an N7 special forces soldier – and designated as a Pathfinder, an operative tasked with discovering new planets for the Human species to colonize. They will explore an open world galaxy aboard the starship Tempest. I cannot wait much longer for this game to drop because I miss spending 50+ hours on a game.

Tell me what you guys think and what you cant wait to play!
